Why fairness needs proof

On a mystery box site you cannot see how the outcome is generated. “Provably fair” solves that by giving you a way to mathematically confirm the result was not tampered with — no trust required.

How it works, briefly

Before a roll, the platform commits to a hidden server seed by publishing its hash. You contribute a client seed. The two are combined with a nonce (a counter) to produce the result. Because the server seed was locked in advance, the platform cannot change the outcome after seeing your seed.

Verifying a result

After a roll, the platform reveals the original server seed. You hash it and confirm it matches the hash published beforehand, then re-run the combination yourself to check the result. If both match, the outcome was fair.

Why it matters for your pick

A published, verifiable provably-fair system is one of the strongest trust signals in this category — it is weighted heavily in our methodology. Every platform in our ranking is scored partly on how transparent and verifiable its fairness system is.
